Westcliff University provides full-time CPT authorization for its international students, following USCIS regulations. From the moment of enrollment, both Transfer F1 and Initial F1 students can apply to work on CPT. There are no gaps in CPT authorization throughout the academic year, allowing students to utilize CPT for work every single day of the year.

» Students at our school have the opportunity to obtain CPT work authorization right from the first day, and we also send out a CPT renewal notification at the end of each semester, ensuring a seamless experience.

» With no breaks between semesters, you can enjoy the benefits of your CPT for a full 365 days without any interruptions.

» At our school, we make it a point to notify all students to apply for CPT two weeks before the start of the school term. Applying early is highly recommended to avoid any possibility of not being able to obtain CPT on the first day of school. It's important to note that we have a strict deadline for CPT applications, so if you happen to miss it, you will have to wait until the next semester to start your CPT journey.

» Onsite Attendance:

For students living within a 50-mile radius of the Irvine Campus, a weekly format is available. These students are expected to attend an onsite class once every week, specifically on a weekday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

For students residing beyond the 50-mile range of the Irvine Campus, a professional format is designed. These students are only required to attend an onsite class once per semester, conveniently scheduled over a weekend (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

»Engage Week is a workshop-style course that takes place every eight weeks, typically during the fourth week of each session. It serves as a replacement for the previous Onsite classes. There are two Engage Weeks in a semester, and students are required to attend one of these weeks on campus, as per the university's requirements.

»The purpose of the Engage Week Workshop is to encourage cross-course collaboration among students, familiarize them with industry resources, and enhance their practical skills.

»Engage Week generally takes place on Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM or on weekdays from 6 PM to 9 PM. After each Engage Week, students are required to submit a summary report, which should be approximately 300 words in length.

CPT Programs at Westcliff University

Westcliff University offers Day 1 CPT Programs during three vibrant semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer. Each semester, international students are required to enroll in a minimum of two courses (equivalent to 6 credits), which includes one online course and one hybrid course.

Note: Students applying for CPT (Curricular Practical Training) need to add an extra credit each term and pay an additional CPT fee on top of the regular tuition. Each term requires the completion of 7 credits.

GoElite Scholarship 

Goelite is an official designated recruitment partner of Westcliff University (WU). All students who are referred by Goelite and transfer to Westcliff University from OPT/F1 status are eligible to receive an exclusive $1,000 GoElite Scholarship.

Note:There are six scholarship application opportunities per year, and students can apply for different scholarships multiple times. Once approved, scholarships are disbursed to students in six installments over one year (Distinguished Scholarships are disbursed in three installments). After the scholarship funds are fully disbursed, students can reapply.To apply, students need to write an essay of no more than 500 words and submit three documents that demonstrate their strengths (such as a resume, certificates, or letters of recommendation).

  • Open to both new and current international students.
  • Requires a GPA of 3.25 or above.

  • The latest scholarship for students who have successfully applied for H-1B status.
  • Students can enjoy a 20% tuition discount while completing their program.
  • After transitioning to H-1B status, students are no longer restricted by F1 status and can switch to part-time or fully online modes.
  • If students choose to exit the program, credits can be retained and reactivated if they decide to return to their studies later.
